Special Kids is a certified Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF) provider through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Being a CORF certifies that Special Kids is a medical facility that provides outpatient diagnostic, therapeutic, and restorative services at a single fixed location for the rehabilitation of injury, disability, or sickness. This care is commonly known as outpatient rehabilitation care. Referring physicians to Special Kids must draw up treatment plans and review them at least every 60 days.

Camp Ability is a respite day camp for children and young adults with special needs between the ages of 11 to 25 years old. We focus on each camper's ability to grow in Christ and emphasize on the camper's abilities, not disabilities. At Camp Ability we focus on what they CAN do, not what they cannot. A 4:1 camper to staff ratio allows for modification and adaptation to be made which ensures each camper can participate to their fullest potential. Camp is designed to allow children and young adults with special needs to participate in an interactive, social, and just plain fun environment.

Campers must be able to safely participate in group activities with a 4:1 camper to counselor ratio. If a camper cannot participate in our program safely, even with accommodations and support of our staff, the child may be discharged from camp. Due to safety of other campers Camp Ability is unable to provide care for children who require physical restraint or have history of aggressive behaviors towards others. Our counselors are not certified in physical restraint training.

Rates

$350/weekly camp fees

All field trips, special activities, supplies and Camp t-shirt are included in the weekly rate. $100/non-refundable registration fee
